Where is Haiti? Haiti is located approximately 700 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. It shares the Island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic.

How large is Haiti? It is roughly the size of the state of Maryland.

What language is spoken in Haiti? The official language of the country is French. However Haitian Creole is spoken by the majority of the people.

I never hear anything about Haiti in the news anymore. Are things back to normal Since the earthquake? No, things are not back to normal. The major news organizations are long gone but the work continues to restore a sense of normalcy. Organizations that have worked in Haiti long before the earthquake now have the monumental task of helping to rebuild the country and improving the lives of the Haitian people.

How are my contributions used? MHM is operated by a volunteer staff. With the exception of a very small amount of money to cover expenses such as stamps, envelopes, paper, etc, all of the contributions go directly to the ministry work in Haiti.  Donations go to improving conditions in Christville, and for supporting students and teachers.
